Football 2015

As usual, this news is a few weeks old, but football is over.  Jordan was a 9U Jr Trojan this year.  Our record of 3-5 was slightly better than in the years past.  Our head coach likes to say that we're a good team, we just don't know it yet.  :)

Regardless of games won and lost, I think the boys improved significantly from the past 2 years.  We even almost, almost beat Banks County this year...they were ranked number 1 or 2 in our conference and everyone expected them  to run all over us.  In the end, they won by 1 lousy touchdown, but our Trojans played the game of their lives!

Our year started off fabulously at the Jamboree.  The boys did so well, which was a new experience.  We are used to getting killed at the Jamboree.  This year, we looked great and won both games.

This is a picture from the first full-pad practice.  So early in the morning!

Pep Rally

Opening Day.  Unfortunately, we played Gainesville and had our tails handed to us.  Number 34 still looked good, though.

Prayer before a game.  Yes, our team still prays together at practices and games.

I could definitely tell a difference in the level of intensity this year.  For instance, we practiced in downpours several times.  I say "we" because Violet and I had to be there too!

One thing new this season that the boys LOVED  was running through the cheerleaders' banners at the beginning of games. Just ignore that person's head in the bottom left corner.  I didn't edit these photos!

We even got to have a night game, thanks to the rain for forcing a Saturday game to be rescheduled to a Tuesday night.  We won, too!

And, the end of season party.  Coach Matt had the most encouraging things to say about Jordan:  "Spark Plug!  Because a spark plug is just 'this' big, but the car can't run without it.  Our defense wouldn't be the same without you, Smitty".

And, our coaches.  We really do have the best.  We will really miss Coach Sisson, as he announced his retirement from coaching.

9U didn't make it to the playoffs, so our family enjoyed a nice two week break from sports.  It has been so nice, but wrestling starts on Monday.  Back to the grind.
